Land & Water Conservation Fund (LWCF)

Not only could LWCF be of assistance but also the RTP if there are needs for trails to access the water if you know of any city, county, state or federal agencies interested in applying for funding assistance. LWCF is for all outdoor recreational needs and of course RTP is for trails, trailhead facilities (parking, restrooms), and trailside facilities (benches, signage, trashcans, etc).

The RBC Blue Water Project is a 10-year, global commitment to help protect the world’s most precious natural resource: fresh water. The centerpiece of the project is a $50 million grant program that awards watershed protection grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Paddle Nation Project

The Outdoor Industry Association Paddle Advisory Council, a coalition of top paddlesport industry change-makers is dedicated to advancing and growing participation in paddlesports, is giving 10 projects up to $2,500 each in funding. They’re looking for individuals and organizations passionate about creating connections with young people and their local waterways through paddling. Apply by February 1, 2013. Clean Water Act

Funding through Section 319(h) of the Clean Water Act is provided to the Kentucky Nonpoint Source (NPS) Pollution Control Program from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  Funds can be used to pay for 60 percent of the total cost for each project; a 40 percent nonfederal match is required.
