Paddle Pickup 2013 Back On!
River Cleanup on the Beech Fork set for July 27
So after nine years we ran into our first high water day for the cleanup making it too unsafe to conduct the event. We have selected Saturday, July 27, 2013, as the make up date, so mark your calendars, grab your canoes, and lets clean up our river!
On Saturday, July 27th the Bardstown Boaters will gather volunteers to get down and dirty by removing trash from the Beech Fork River. This represents the 9th year of the Paddle Pickup, an event that is important part of an ongoing effort to improve the quality of local waterways.
Volunteers will meet at the Bethlehem High School parking lot at 8:30 AM for a short orientation, and then travel to the river location to get the event underway. Volunteers are encouraged to provide their own water craft if they plan to be part of the “Floating" cleanup crew. “Ground" cleanup crews will also participate by removing trash from the river banks.
