I would just like to say thank you to everyone that came out to the party last Saturday. It is always a good feeling to see some many vikings in one spot! we cant have to many of those!

The future looks great for the Viking Canoe Club, I see many fun and adventurous trips in our near future! I witness not only in my self, but many other fellow vikings step it up this past year!!! I saw people that have never been in a kayak or had taken a long break from kayaking, run class IV whitewater! I saw people come together to help others in a sport they have come to love. I hope we continue this journey into the sport for many years to come!

I feel like its probably a touchy subject. But knowing CPR and Basic first aid could be a crucial skill to have when we are pushing our selves to be great. nobody wants to think about having to do this, but if that time has to come it would be nice to know! So Tony has put together a basic CPR/First Aid Class for club members. Penny also has a more en depth class going on. Penny’s is coming up and I would highly recommend this to anyone that would like to get a more hands on/en depth experience with this subject. but if you cant afford it I would recommend doing it with Tony.

Our Next meeting will be Tuesday Feb, 2end at El Tarasco in Louisville, Ky starting at 6:30. I would like to set a date for the trip planning meeting. Im pretty sure we have a place to have it! Need to set that date! we need to go over the budget, find out how much we have and what we need to pay out. it will give us a good idea on what we can do this year! Also this had been metion about moving our meeting location. we can go over this!

The NPFF is always a fun event even if you don’t plan to race! So come on out and watch or participate in what we do best! I have already seen pictures floating around of people out there training so hell yeah!!! VIKINGS ALL THE WAY!! I have already reserved a room and hope you guys do too.

So sign up for CPR and come out to our next meeting! Hope to see you all there!
