Announcing the “KY River Paddler’s Challenge 2012” from BWA Forum by canoeky

BWA Members, We have been working for many months on this event, and are finally able to let the cat out of the bag. On Saturday, September the 8th, 2012,we will be working with the 2nd Annual Kentucky River Paddler’s Challenge. This will be a series of races and challenges that test beginners and experienced canoeists and kayaker’s alike. Canoe Kentucky is not the organizer of this event, however, we are one of the title sponsors, Along with our local McDonald’s. This event is being brought to you by the King’s Center, a local Christ based youth center in downtown Frankfort. This center provides services to kids who are otherwise under served in their community. The work they do is helping forge great young men and women in our local community. All the proceeds from the day benefit this cause. We have scheduled some great events for the day, including some whitewater kayak specific events for our wonderful whitewater community. We have also intentionally scheduled this event around any whitewater releases in the area, so that we can get a good showing from the local whitewater crowd. Remember that Frankfort has received “our types” with open arms over the past four years for the NPFF. We would love to be able to show Frankfort how wonderful a people we paddlers are, and how we enjoy giving back to those who need it.

Please check out the Facebook page below for more details, and a flyer and website will be up shortly, so we will update when those come out. [www.facebook.com]

Please call or email us at Canoe Kentucky if you have any questions or would like some additional information. We are also looking for any volunteers if you don’t care to race but want to help out. We look forward to seeing you all on the water!

Sounds fun!
