3rd Annual Daddy’s Creek Race

Posted by Spalding Hurst

December 20, 2013

It’s right around the corner. First Saturday in 2014 with flows above 1.6’. Take note that the USGS online flow gauge is inaccurate at the moment. Make sure to use the American Whitewater virtual stage gauge, which appears to be on the money.

We had a good showing for the 1st and 2nd races and look forward to having the best turn out so far this year. Come out and race, or come out to spectate, help with safety or talk smack to your friends as the pass by. The event promises to be another good time, no matter why you are there. Someone had better smoke Bankfool for the top seat this year…will it be you?

Keep your eye here, on BT, or on the various Facebook pages for southeastern paddling for details. As usual, we will have a roaring fire at the take out and will do a clean up at the put-in and take out to give a little back to the Obed system that means so much to so many of us.

Looking forward to seeing everyone out there…and maybe even a swimmer or two. In the mean time, Happy Holidays boaters!
